Qn: Mathilda poured 7L of milk into identical bottles. Each bottle has a capacity of 3/4L.
(i) How many of such bottles could be filled to the brim with 7L of milk?
(ii) How much milk was left?
Observation: Students often have the misconception that the reminder i.e. 1/3 refers to the amount of milk left. Therefore, common mistake:
1/3 L of milk was left.
However since this is a "Grouping concept" question, 1/3 actually refers to 1/3 group of bottles, each with a capacity of 3/4L. Therefore, correct solution should be : 1/3 x 3/4 = 1/4 L of milk was left
